Best Time To Cold Plunge When Doing Workouts

Best time to do cold plunge w/workouts

When is the best time to do sauna and cold plunge, especially if you want them to benefit your workouts?

The last three or four months, my routine has been doing sauna for 10 to 15 minutes before working out, which allows my body and the muscles to warm up, as well as to increase blood flow. After my workouts, I would come home and do a cold plunge for restoration and repair.

After a couple of weeks of researching the best time to do cold plunge and sauna in relation to working out, it turns out that it is not a good idea to cold plunge after you work out.

If your main goals for working out are to increase strength and to build muscle, you need that inflammation that comes in after the work out to help build the muscle.

If you cold plunge after the workout, it cuts that inflammation off and the muscles can’t grow.

You can still do a sauna for 10 to 15 minutes before working out, but the best time to do a cold plunge would be first thing in the morning, which will help wake your body up, stimulate your nervous system, increase endorphins, as well as increase the productivity of your work out.

If your goal is to build muscle, you should not do a cold plunge after working out for 24 to 48 hours.
